Commissioning Communion and Prayer
(As you pass out the elements, Feel free to click on the link for a worship song to be played during your communion time.)The Committed of standing in the gap for the soul of another person is not only a very important commitment, it is the reason Jesus came, to preach the gospel that sinners would be saved and reconciled to God.
Mark 1:38 says, But He said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.”
Paul tells us in 2 Cor 5:18 that we have been given this same ministry of reconciliation. It says, “Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,”
Since this is a spiritual endeavor, we will commit, to the Lord, the sharing of the good news of the gospel by taking communion. In doing so, we bring to mind the reason Jesu died and rose from the dead and commit to dying to self in order to follow Him and do what He did.
Take the bread
1 Corinthians 11:23-24
In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.
Drink from the cup
Pray the commissioning prayer over the group.
I am praying that the Lord anoint you, your words and your ministry. You have been trained and are ready to share the most important message in the world.
Keep in mind that the gospel does the work. It is the power of God unto salvation.
Romans 1:16 says For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
There is no other name by which men may be saved.
Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
You just need to be faithful to prayerfully share the best news known to man.
God bless you!
