The report of the Gospel

God created us in His image to live in Relationship with Him.

In our sin we have Rebelled against God and Ruined that opportunity.
As our Role model, Jesus lived in perfect submission to God.

His death on the cross was the perfect Ransom for our sin and He Rose on the third day as perfect proof of life after death.
You can Receive the gift of salvation if you Repent and believe. Are you Ready?
Role Model

There are over 4,000 religions in the world, each of them is man’s attempt to reach God and gain Gods approval. Unfortunately because we are imperfect, we cannot satisfy God’s standard of perfection.

Therefore, God came down to us in the form of His perfect Son, Jesus.

As our Role model, Jesus lived in perfect submission to God.

His death on the cross was a perfect Ransom for our sin and He Rose on the third day as perfect proof of life after death.

Role Model

Role Model: An example to follow. A standard to aspire to. Someone to be like.

Jesus is the perfect Role model as in sinlessly perfect.

Jesus as our Role model demonstrated perfect submission to the Father through His self-sacrificial life.

Jesus as our Role model demonstrated perfect servanthood.

Jesus as our Role model demonstrated what it looks like to have perfect access to the supernatural power available through prayer.

Heb 4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Phil 2:5-8 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

John 10:37-38 If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.

Ransom

Ransom - A payment for a debt. Cost of freedom. Price for deliverance.

Story - When someone breaks the law, they pay a penalty.

When we break man’s law or commit a crime, a penalty or sacrifice as a ransom to pay the debt is needed.

Penalty brings death to freedom, relationships and opportunities.

The law attempts to get payment for the crime by invoking penalties.

When we break God’s law or commit a sin, a perfect penalty or perfect sacrifice to pay the debt is needed to meet God’s standard.

We need a perfect penalty or sacrifice to satisfy the perfect and holy standard of God.

Religion cannot provide a good enough sacrifice.

Penalties always bring death to something. Death to relationships. Death to opportunities. Death to connections to the blessings of God. Death to our peace and sense self-worth. Death to our access to the wisdom and presence of God.

Jesus came as the perfect sacrifice or Ransom and payment for our sin.
Jesus died to pay the price to free us from the penalty of our sin.

As a Ransom for our sin He offered the perfect sacrifice on the cross

Mark 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.

1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Rose

Rose: The resurrection: Death to life. Empty tomb/empty grave. Power over death. Proof we will rise from the dead.

When Jesus Rose He offered perfect proof of His power over death.

His resurrection validated that He can offer the perfect sacrifice for your sin.

The resurrection sets apart Jesus as the only true savoir? No other religious leader rose from the dead or promised to rise from the dead.
Evidence for the resurrection?
Empty tomb
Testimony of women
Testimony of many
Growth of church
Disciples went from cowards to martyrs

Story - Would you trust your finances with someone who is broke?
Would you trust your court case with someone with no law degree?
Would you trust health with someone who is always sick
Why trust your eternal life with someone who is dead?
John 14:1“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me

Mark 10:33-34
“Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and deliver Him to the Gentiles; 34 and they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him. And the third day He will rise again.”

1 Cor 15:12 Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. 14 And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. 15 Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up—if in fact the dead do not rise. 16 For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. 17 And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!

Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Romans 1:4 "and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead."
